Hiya friends. Well, soon to be friends. You can’t traverse this site without becoming quick friends and blushing a few times.

Let’s start at in 2019 when I found out that I was BRCA 2+. After losing an aunt, uncle, cousin (plus many others prior to the mutations discovery) I got tested and sure enough was the winner of positive BRCA2 mutation.

This means that when those free radical little buggers start floating around my body isn’t equipped with the arsenal to stop them. My “cancer gene” is broken. With this news, I was given an opportunity. A choice to drastically change my fate, to not end up like my relatives. The decision was easy. Take em off.

In 2020 I had a prophylactic double mastectomy with reconstruction. Thats right I selected the big fake boobies first. I mean, always being flat I was excited about eh opportunity to have larger breasts and cleavage! After a few surgeries, new implants and some seriously weird new allergies I decided to remove the implants and elect for aesthetic flat closure.

Fast forward through a salpingectomy and then full hysterectomy and here I am. Forty, flat and full of life. Ready to share all the dirty little details wtih you.

Welcome to my crazy BRCA journey.
